  • “Birdman is a black comedy that tells the story of an actor (Keaton) – famous for portraying an iconic superhero – as he struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself.”

  • The film has been extremely well received by all who have seen it including critics, fans and artists. Canadian artist Patrick Seymour along with Connecticut artist and Poster Posse member, Orlando Arocena have been looking to collaborate for some time now and their tribute to “Birdman” is hopefully the first of many collaborative prints for these two.
  • Here are a few W.I.P. images.
  • “Orlando and I have been talking about doing a collaboration for some time now. After seeing the film I started a little something but after a couple of hours I stopped myself and I was thinking,  ‘This is a seriously great movie and this could be, with the help of Orlando, an awesome collaboration!” So I asked him what he thought and we decide to play tennis with this design. And after 3 rounds each we came up with the final image.”

  • Being crazy about adobe Illustrator, I have always been fond of Patrick Seymour’s amazing stylized fonts and line work vector illustrations. And seeing that we each follow each other on Behance, plus have recently been honored to be on the start up screens for Adobe Illustrator, I reached out and asked if he would be interested in doing a vector collaboration.

I remember trying to offer a common theme since our portfolios both had animals, robots, and women, thought that it would be easy. Until he sent me a preliminary vector based off of Alejandro González Iñárritu BIRDMAN movie. Immediatly, I nodded my head and gave an evil grin while uttering the words “yeaaahhhhh!!!”. One problem, I had to wait for the movie to be released in my town. But when it did- it was like hearing the bell go off at the race track and watching the energy fly.  Final thoughts: Patrick Seymour rocks , already talking about another collaboration for the future plus maybe even a vector gallery exhibition.
